Danny Snelson

Danny Snelson will perform with his expanded translation: my Dear coUntess. This labyrinthine cut-up translates a turn-of-the-century letter to Lord Kelvin as penned by the disembodied soul of Alfred Jarry. Using costumed readings of a dozen source texts as his idiosyncratic dictionary, Snelson translates this lost epistle with a full arsenal of improvisational tools. Directly interfacing with these rhythms, Snelson will use the poem as an instrument to re-tune his compositional sources. The poem has been featured on Drunken Boat and is forthcoming in print from Patrick Lovelace Editions.
